Steff was working on her math homework, math was a subject she was always really bad at, and she was just barely awake. It wasn't very late, just about 10:45 but Steff hasn't been sleep good lately and her math looked like a better pillow then it did an assignment. She heard someone sit down next to her at the table and shook herself awake. She meant to say hi but it came out sounding like "Huh."

"Hi," Sahara said, smiling. She was completely alert, awake, and full of energy. It would be another five hours or so before she'd even start to get tired. She actually came into the library just so she'd have something to do. "Math?" Sahara asked the other girl, taking a look at the paper. Sahara hoped she wasn't being rude, but it was a little late now to do anything about it.

Steff smiled at the girls energy. "Yeah, I'm horrible at it but this is the first time it's actually almost put me to sleep." She stretched and blinked to fully wake herself up. "I'm Steff" She held out her hand. The mannors her lifestyle had drilled into her head were starting to kick in.

Sahara laughed at what Steff said. "I'm Sahara," she said then, with a smile, shaking Steff's hand. "Nice to meet you." She turned her head to the side slightly, looking at the girl. "Are you new, or have I just not met you before?" she asked. Either was possible. Sahara had only just started school here, so really, most of the people she just hadn't met yet.

Steff's smile dropped only the slightest, but it was hardly noticable before she put it back up. "I'm new actually. Just started a few days ago." There was actually a whole story to her reason for being here, but she didn't think it was a good story for someone she had just met. "Are you new too?" She asked.

She nodded. "Yeah, I just started a couple of days ago, too. So I haven't really met many people..." Sahara shrugged. "For some reason, it seems hard to meet people here... I don't know why. I mean, Besides you I've only met my roommate," Sahara said.

Steff nodded. "I've only met you, but I haven't really done much since I got here, besides unpack and stuff." She smiled to herself at the thought of what she considered 'unpacking' "My house is still a mess though..." She added absentmindedly. Steff wondered if it was really hard to meet peolpe here, and if so why. She thought about this for another minute before letting the thought leave her head. "So what brings you to the library? Work or boredom?" She figured it was the boredom, but asked anyway.

"Boredom. And it was one of the places in the school that I haven't explored yet," Sahara told Steff. "I've been going around, comparing everything to the pictures in the brochures of this place and stuff," she explained. "And I'm guessing it's work that brings you here? The math, I mean."

Steff nodded again and glaced down at her math homework, which was only half done. "Yeah, I didn't get very far though. Oh well. I'm sure I'll get it done eventually. I'm all mathed out." She looked around the library. "So how does this place compare to the pictures and brochures?" She hadn't had a lot of time to explore yet, but she wanted to know what to expect.

"Well, it's a lot less clean and perfect, you know? But I think I prefer it that way. It feels more real than in the pictures. A little more comfortable," Sahara said. "But I hate when anything is too perfect. Because nothing's really perfect, so it makes me all suspicious... like the place is hiding something. ...And I sound completely insane, don't I?" Sahara asked, and laughed.

Steff smiled and laughed "No you don't sound insane. I think the same same way. Nothings perfect so if something seems perfect there's just something wrong that you haven't seen yet." She relaxed a little at the thought that her new home was comfortable.

"Exactly," Sahara said, nodding. "Anyone, or any place, that seems perfect has got to be hiding something. So when I saw that the lake was actually kind of cold and the bookshelves here aren't dusted... I was relieved."

Steff laughed "I've seen very few places that can keep up with the dust on their bookshelves." Then she added "There's a lake?" Somehow she had missed that but in the haste that she was sent here, it was amazing she knew anything about the school.

"Communisum...is it hear to stay?" Evane said from the history section of the library, her voice echoing off the quiet walls. "Someone needs to update this section." She sighed, placing the book back and grabbing another one. "German history...1397-1967...riiight...old." She said, placing that book back as well and walking out of that section and smiling. "Let me guess..."She began, spotting the back of Steff & Sahara. "One of you is bored, the other has homework, and I'm hungry."

She nodded. "Yeah. There's like a million things here... gardens, a pool, a forest, stables..." Sahara said. "My parents made sure to point all that out when they tried to convince me that I'd love it here."
